Whether you are working on a personal memoir for publication or would simply like to start recording your memories, members can expect to receive peer guidance and feedback in a supportive and welcoming environment. Several writing topics are recommended each month, or people can write about a topic of their own choosing. At each get-together, there is the option to share your writing and receive thoughtful feedback. This group will meet on the last Monday of every month. Registration is required. – Preschoolers can stretch, move, and relax in this fun and engaging Preschool Yoga session! Designed for ages 3-5, this class combines simple yoga poses, breathing exercises, and gentle music to encourage movement, mindfulness, and creativity. July 9, 2025(12 events) Uncharted Wild Animal Show will kick off the season with creepy, crawly animals! Adam will introduce the audience to reptiles – lizards, turtles, snakes and others. He will introduce at least one soft and fuzzy mammal. The audience will get a chance to see the animal up close or to touch them. Adam will teach the audience about each animal he introduces. – Registration required: Crandall Public Library In this lecture, you’ll learn the basics of cloud storage — a technology that lets you store documents, images, and other media files remotely while giving you greater accessibility, reliability, and protection for your important data. We’ll discuss what it is, why it’s the future of data storage, and demonstrate a few of the most popular services currently available to consumers. This class will be held at the Queensbury Senior Center, 742 Bay Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804. Registration is required. Drop in, no sign up required. – NORTH COUNTRY AT WORK (NCAW) is a North Country Public Radio project exploring the work history and contemporary economic landscape of each of the communities in the Adirondack North Country. Our starting point is photographs—images of people at work, the tools they use, the spaces their work occupies or impacts. From that starting point, we expand to personal stories, oral histories and other content to deepen our understanding of how the livelihoods of people across northern New York looked in earlier times, how the work has changed and continues to change, how the work we do in one community relates to work being done elsewhere in the region, and how our experience is part of a larger rural experience throughout the United States. Our basic premise: everyone has a photo or work-related story to share. We all work. It all adds up to make this NCAW as illuminating and meaningful as possible. The content for this digital space has been gathered—and continues to be gathered—at locations across the region. We collaborate with town historians, librarians, scholars, museum staff, nonprofit organizations and citizens who have collected and cherish the often hidden history of their communities. Participants will be divided into two teams for games like Red Rover and Capture the Flag. When the games begin they will use colorful cornstarch based powder to tag each other in a kaleidoscope of colors! After the games are over, we will help participants process their souvenir shirts to set the color powder using a vinegar soak and a hot iron. Registration is required so that each participant can be provided with a white t-shirt, bandanna and sunglasses to wear during the program (and take home as a souvenir) Please note: Participants should dress for a mess as clothes and shoes worn during the program will be stained by the color powder. This event is free and open to the public.
Utilizing music from both Western and non-Western styles, Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers is an action-packed tale of bravery, smarts, and family ties. – National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame The Museum will offer free admission and there will be complimentary coffee and doughnuts courtesy of Stewart’s Shops and water courtesy of Saratoga Spring Water. These morning programs will feature author and artist meet and greets, handicapping seminars, and a variety of additional programming. – Exhibits and Activities All Day Events: At the Schroon Lake Community Church Don’t miss this special FREE concert celebrating 110 years of Seagle Festival and the music of American composers with a special connection to Seagle Festival. $20 per person suggested donation benefiting Seagle Festival and the Schroon Lake Food Pantry.
