July 28, 2025(6 events) – This group meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the community room. Writers of all styles and genres are welcome. – NOTE: Included with a Community Fitness Membership, which is free to residents of Hague, Bolton, Ticonderoga, Crown Point, and Putnam. A Membership or Visitor Pass is required for this activity. – Preschoolers can stretch, move, and relax in this fun and engaging Preschool Yoga session! Designed for ages 3-5, this class combines simple yoga poses, breathing exercises, and gentle music to encourage movement, mindfulness, and creativity. No experience needed—just wear comfy clothes and socks. – Kids in grades K-6 are invited to join us for our weekly free art program. Learn how the culture and history of Brazil has shaped the food they serve and enjoy. July 30, 2025(11 events) At Lake George High School - Caldwell-Lake George Library We are proud to present the Seagle Festival’s children’s opera, Monkey & Francine in the City of Tigers, at the Lake George High School auditorium on Wednesday, July 30th at 10:00 am. This event is free and open to the public.
Utilizing music from both Western and non-Western styles, Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers is an action-packed tale of bravery, smarts, and family ties. Brave Monkey and clever Francine work together to escape the clutches of a dishonest Crocodile and the evil Lord and Lady Tiger to save their family and their kingdom. Their teamwork and bravery show them and their parents that when they work together, they can accomplish anything.

Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 18 Albums of Originals, Blues and Americana music and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame group “The Band” when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Band’s last three CD’s including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90’s repertoire. Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker “Professor Louie”. –

This program is part of the Color Our World Summer Reading Program for children, teens, and adults. – Grimaldi is renowned for his expertise in abstract expressionism, his artistic journey is deeply influenced by the iconic American artist, Jackson Pollock. With a portfolio gracing studios, professional offices, and esteemed private collections, his signature style captivates viewers worldwide. On August 4th, his gallery will be doing a live demonstration on his technique at the Caldwell-Lake George Library, 336 Canada Street, Lake George, NY. The program will begin at 10:00 am and it will be assisted by Lake George Youth Commission campers. All the campers will receive a special gift and add their signatures to the piece as Artist! Community members are welcome to join in and add their mark to this very special painting. The piece will be proudly displayed at the library for the entire community to enjoy! Participants will be divided into two teams for games like Red Rover and Capture the Flag. When the games begin they will use colorful cornstarch based powder to tag each other in a kaleidoscope of colors! After the games are over, we will help participants process their souvenir shirts to set the color powder using a vinegar soak and a hot iron. Registration is required so that each participant can be provided with a white t-shirt, bandanna and sunglasses to wear during the program (and take home as a souvenir) Please note: Participants should dress for a mess as clothes and shoes worn during the program will be stained by the color powder. Since this is an outdoor event, there is a chance that it may be rescheduled due to the weather. See Anne or Amy for more information. In this immersive and educational experience, you’ll command miniature armies representing the British, French, and their Indigenous allies across a large, detailed diorama of Fort William Henry. Ages 12 and up. No prior experience necessary, just a love for history and gaming! Join us as we gather to commemorate the historic Surrender of Fort William Henry. After enduring a siege by French forces that began on August 3rd, General Munro and the British were compelled to surrender the Fort on August 9th, 1757. Pete, our guitarist and also an Irishman, plays with passion and expertise with decades of practice and performing reggae and rock and all places in between. The horn section—featuring (at times) two trombones, Dave and Catherine, and Scott, the sax man—consider themselves local also. They bring fire to the band with their playing. George, the lead drummer and vocalist, grew up in Accra, Ghana, where he learned and practiced traditional African beats. He shares his vocabulary of AfroBeat and reggae with Mixed Roots. Join co-owners and co-founders Joe and Sean Clancy and managing editor Tom Law as they talk about the origin of the paper in 2001 and the role it plays, a quarter-century later, in telling the stories of the horses and horsemen who compete at Saratoga Race Course. FanDuel Racing broadcaster Gabby Gaudet, a former intern at The Saratoga Special, will moderate the discussion. The Clancys founded The Special seven years after establishing Steeplechase Times. Law came on board in 2013 after a stint with Thoroughbred Times. Finding that they shared similar frustrations about the emerging brass band scene in New York City, co-founders Alex Harris and Ally Chapel came together to form a group dedicated to showcasing the talents of female musicians in a landscape that was dominated by male musicians and bandleaders. After debuting in March 2019, Brass Queens grew to be a fixture in the local music scene and was dubbed “the hardest working band in town” by their peers. – Registration required: The Conkling Center Join Ardie Russell and Howard Raymond as they present what canal life was like almost 200 years ago at the Historic Feeder Canal Silos. Leave modern life behind and discover how the historic Silos contributed to the economic growth of Glens’ Falls, Hudson Falls, and the Adirondacks from the 1820’s-1941. We’ll begin at the historic Silos with a view of three amazing handmade Dioramas and a PowerPoint presentation of vintage photos of the Feeder Canal, along with a view of the Lock Tender Shanty. – This club for kids ages 10 & up meets in the community room with an instructor on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. – Registration required: Crandall Public Library Meet 2-4 of Moreau Lakes State Park’s rehabbed snakes and turtles and other native reptiles of New York, learn about what they eat and what they use for “shell-ter”. Session will cover installing the Libby App, searching and browsing the collection, and borrowing eBooks and audiobooks. Come learn about this electronic health-record portal that works both in a web browser and app. We'll go over how MyChart can help you keep all your health information in one place, communicate with your providers, and have a virtual visit. You'll also learn about the portal's privacy and security features. This class will be held at the Queensbury Senior Center, 742 Bay Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804. Registration is required.
