We hope a compilation of these great events will be a valuable resource for our community. Click on the categories above the calendar to limit the results by drive time from the Bolton Free Library. Be sure to check the hosting organization’s website for schedule changes and cancellations. Note that some of the events at and within 10 minutes of our library are not free; these are denoted with a “($)” and costs are included in those descriptions.

From its founding in 1917—sparked by a tragic crime and a call for justice—to a century of dedicated service, The Gray Riders honors the legacy, integrity, and enduring mission of the New York State Police. July 30, 2025(5 events) At Lake George High School - Caldwell-Lake George Library We are proud to present the Seagle Festival’s children’s opera, Monkey & Francine in the City of Tigers, at the Lake George High School auditorium on Wednesday, July 30th at 10:00 am. This event is free and open to the public.
Utilizing music from both Western and non-Western styles, Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers is an action-packed tale of bravery, smarts, and family ties. Brave Monkey and clever Francine work together to escape the clutches of a dishonest Crocodile and the evil Lord and Lady Tiger to save their family and their kingdom. Their teamwork and bravery show them and their parents that when they work together, they can accomplish anything.

– Lake George Arts Project - Shepard Park Grammy Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from Woodstock NY have been expanding the borders of the Americana, Roots & Blues genres with Professor Louie’s stories, keyboard playing, singing and accordion. Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 18 Albums of Originals, Blues and Americana music and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame group “The Band” when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Band’s last three CD’s including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90’s repertoire. Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker “Professor Louie”. –

Open to all children 3-12 years old. – Registration required: The Richards Library (Warrensburg) Southern Adirondack Audubon Society at the Bancroft Public Library (Salem) Wild Turkeys, once extirpated in New York, started to naturally recolonize in the 1940s. Mike Muthersbaugh, Upland Game Bird Biologist at NYSDEC, will talk about the ecology of the Wild Turkey and the factors that affect Wild Turkey populations in the state. He’ll share how you can participate in the annual N.Y.S. Wild Turkey Survey during the month of August. August 4, 2025(1 event) – Grimaldi is renowned for his expertise in abstract expressionism, his artistic journey is deeply influenced by the iconic American artist, Jackson Pollock. With a portfolio gracing studios, professional offices, and esteemed private collections, his signature style captivates viewers worldwide. On August 4th, his gallery will be doing a live demonstration on his technique at the Caldwell-Lake George Library, 336 Canada Street, Lake George, NY. The program will begin at 10:00 am and it will be assisted by Lake George Youth Commission campers. All the campers will receive a special gift and add their signatures to the piece as Artist! Community members are welcome to join in and add their mark to this very special painting. The piece will be proudly displayed at the library for the entire community to enjoy! A huge thank you to Mark Grimaldi for sharing his time and talent with us. It is sure to be a fantastic program! |

August 6, 2025(3 events) – Lake George Arts Project - Shepard Park Dynamic country singer and songwriter Ashley Wineland is on a quick ascend. The powerhouse vocalist’s combination of electrifying stage presence and immersive storytelling has enabled her to carve her own unique trail as an independent artist with nearly a million fans engaged online. Because of her relentless work ethic, Ashley is an artist in full control of her career’s destiny, and her accolades achieved to date underscore just that. The Arizona-based artist has also taken the reins as her own booking agent, landing 60+ headlining shows across the country and spots on multiple festival and fair stages. –

August 9, 2025(2 events) – Registration required: Fort William Henry Museum Step into the past and take command during our Tabletop Reenactment of the Siege of Fort William Henry, happening on the very day we commemorate the fort’s historic capitulation to French forces. In this immersive and educational experience, you’ll command miniature armies representing the British, French, and their Indigenous allies across a large, detailed diorama of Fort William Henry. Ages 12 and up. No prior experience necessary, just a love for history and gaming! Join us as we gather to commemorate the historic Surrender of Fort William Henry. After enduring a siege by French forces that began on August 3rd, General Munro and the British were compelled to surrender the Fort on August 9th, 1757. A reading of the terms of surrender and a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the military cemetery. See you there! |

Please pre-register with the Circulation Desk at 518-623-3011. – Lake George Arts Project - Shepard Park Under the leadership of the drummer, George, Mixed Roots is a rare breed of bands. All are from different areas, and now call Albany, New York home. Brian, Irishman and bassist, plays with multiple upstate New York reggae groups as well as Mixed Roots. Calling on his expertise from these, he offers flavors from the Grateful Dead and others. Pete, our guitarist and also an Irishman, plays with passion and expertise with decades of practice and performing reggae and rock and all places in between. The horn section—featuring (at times) two trombones, Dave and Catherine, and Scott, the sax man—consider themselves local also. They bring fire to the band with their playing. George, the lead drummer and vocalist, grew up in Accra, Ghana, where he learned and practiced traditional African beats. He shares his vocabulary of AfroBeat and reggae with Mixed Roots. Together, this band plays with energy emerging from their mixed roots. They are prepared and excited to share their styles with you! –

August 20, 2025(3 events) – Lake George Arts Project - Shepard Park Brass Queens is a female-led, New York-based brass band that has been dominating the brass band scene since 2019. Finding that they shared similar frustrations about the emerging brass band scene in New York City, co-founders Alex Harris and Ally Chapel came together to form a group dedicated to showcasing the talents of female musicians in a landscape that was dominated by male musicians and bandleaders. After debuting in March 2019, Brass Queens grew to be a fixture in the local music scene and was dubbed “the hardest working band in town” by their peers. The Queens gained a dedicated following through outdoor performances on the streets of Brooklyn and playing pop-up events in their community through the pandemic. –
