We have a new calendar! We’re experimenting with including free cultural and educational events at other local and regional libraries, museums, and non-profits. We hope a compilation of these great events will be a valuable resource for our community. Click on the categories above the calendar to limit the results by drive time from the Bolton Free Library. Be sure to check the hosting organization’s website for schedule changes and cancellations. Note that some of the events at and within 10 minutes of our library are not free; these are denoted with a “($)” and costs are included in those descriptions.
Check back often for updates and let us know what you think!

March 4, 2026(1 event) – Registration required: Caldwell-Lake George Library Tars, Titles, and Trouble: The G&S Musical That Rocked the Empire.
Escape the cold and join Seagle Festival’s Education & Community Engagement Director Josh Cook for an exclusive look at the 2026 season. Dive into the uproarious world of H.M.S. Pinafore, the Gilbert and Sullivan sensation that cemented their status as theatrical legends. This lecture explores how the opera used nautical satire to mercilessly poke fun at the rigid Victorian class system and the era’s political elite. Furthermore, discover the fascinating, little-known story of how a lack of international copyright protection led to a flurry of unauthorized American productions, making Pinafore a huge—and often uncompensated—hit across the Atlantic.

March 14, 2026(1 event) – Artist’s StatementI paint surrealistic landscapes, using photographs as only a touchstone from which to branch out, and creatively interpret what the imagination sees. As I dip my toes into fantasy realms, reality is never a safety net, but just the bottom of the creative swimming pool. I take the viewer and myself floating to the surface, as I seek not only to show the surface beauty of the natural world, but also its timeless and bold nature. To stop, breathe, and reflect on the mystery of nature is to reinvigorate our intent, and reflect personal restoration. As I extend the space of possibilities, the act of such is merely a reflection of the natural world Bio
