We have a new calendar! We’re experimenting with including free cultural and educational events at other local and regional libraries, museums, and non-profits. We hope a compilation of these great events will be a valuable resource for our community. Click on the categories above the calendar to limit the results by drive time from the Bolton Free Library. Be sure to check the hosting organization’s website for schedule changes and cancellations. Note that some of the events at and within 10 minutes of our library are not free; these are denoted with a “($)” and costs are included in those descriptions.

March 5, 2026(2 events) – Registration required: Up Yonda Farm Get ready to observe, smell, and taste as we discover the the steps to turn sap into syrup! A perfect program for homeschool families as this program will be geared for young children and their caregivers. During a tour of our sugarbush and sugarhouse, you will learn the history of maple sugaring and how the process has changed from the times of the Indigenous Americans and colonial settlers. Through observing, touching, smelling, and tasting, participants will develop an understanding of the steps to turn sap into syrup. $6 per person in addition to the per vehicle Day Use Fee. Members free. – Registration required: Hillview Free Library (Diamond Point) Dive into the deliciously tempting world of Chocolatier Vianne Rocher, through the sweet pages of the book series written by Joanne Harris. Book Club participants will read, & discuss the book while enjoying sweet treats! $5 suggested donation. |

March 7, 2026(1 event) – Registration required: Up Yonda Farm Join us for a Naturalist-led tour learning all about the science and history behind maple syrup. You’ll see sap collection, learn about our sugarbush, and get a tour of our onsite Sugarhouse. Your tour will conclude with a tasting flight of golden, amber, and dark maple syrup served with French toast stick dippers. Tours starting at: 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 1:00, 1:30, and 2:00. Reserve your spot via a $1 per person deposit using the ticket link. $6 per in addition to Day Use Fee. Members $1. |

March 13, 2026(1 event) – Registration required: Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP) Hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) is on the move in the Adirondacks, and scientists need your help tracking the invasive forest pest. On Friday, March 13, join Ari Giller-Leinwohl (terrestrial invasive species manager, Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program) and Leah Smisloff (conservation project coordinator, Lake George Land Conservancy) for two hours of learning about HWA. The free event will begin with an indoor talk about emerging forest pests in the Adirondacks and all things HWA, including the biology and current status of the insect. After that, attendees will be invited to join a guided walk on the trails at the Up Yonda educational farm to learn how to identify and report HWA via iMapInvasives. This event is the perfect way to train to become one of APIPP’s volunteer Forest Pest Hunters. Every winter, Forest Pest Hunters adopt a trail to survey for HWA and report whether or not they find the invasive insect. By doing so, volunteers are helping to track the spread of HWA, and the data collected helps scientists better understand the forest pest. The HWA survey season began in January and runs through the beginning of April. If you plan on joining the HWA walk, please dress warm and bring snowshoes. March 13 Agenda
