Kids on the Canals - Science

Registration required: Hudson Crossing Park

This science-themed excursion will take the kids on a short hike to Lock C5 to learn firsthand how it works. They will explore the engineering principles behind the lock and learn how the lock enables boats to navigate changes in elevation. Back at the pavilion, the participants will split into family teams to design and build a functional lock model.

• Approximately 2 hours long.

• Best suited for ages 6-12

• Group size is limited to 16. Children must be accompanied by an adult (not included in the group size)
