PROGRAMS & EVENTS


The inaugural all-ages Bolton Free Library Winter Challenge will run from Sunday, February 8, through Tuesday, March 31!

Earn points for completing various activities, then use your points to choose from an amazing selection of prizes! Additionally, all participants will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 gift certificate donated by Blue Water Manor AND the top earner in each age category will receive a $50 Grand Prize gift certificate from a local business.

It’s easy to participate! We encourage you to try the online forms, below. If it just doesn’t work for you, stop by the library and pick up a Winter Challenge Packet to track on paper.

Step 1: Winter Challenge Sign Up

Click on the link above and answer a few basic questions. No login, account, or library card needed! After completing the form, click the link to “Submit another response” to sign up additional participants, such as children or grandchildren.

Step 2: Complete Activities and Tell Us What You Did!

Earn as many points as you can by completing any combination of these activities:

Visit a museum or Up Yonda Farm2
Attend an in-person or virtual program/event found on the library’s calendar 2
Attend an in-person or virtual at a library or museum that was NOT on the library’s calendar3
Get stamps from all 7 libraries in our Library Tour Passport (available at library)10

Once you’ve completed something, click “Tell Us What You Did!,” answer a few brief questions, and repeat for each participant. That’s it!

Step 3: Come to the Library and Use Your Points to Get Prizes

Select from a variety of prizes – the more points you have, the more prizes you can choose from! Prizes valued from 10 to 200 points are on display at the library.  First come, first served!

Prizes were generously donated by: Bear’s Cup Bakehouse, Blue Water Manor, Bolton Landing Brewing Co., The Book Cabin, Finishing Touches, Happy Jacks, The Huddle Kitchen and Bar, The Lagoon, Lake Shore Provisions, Library Staff & Trustees, The Oak Room, Serendipity Boutique, and Trees Adirondack Gifts and Books – Thank you!!

GRAND PRIZES

The participant with the most points in their age category at the end of the challenge wins a $50 gift certificate! Grand prizes were purchased with money donated from St. Sacrement Episcopal Church’s 2025 drawing – Thank you!!

WINTER 2026 TRIVIA SCHEDULE


STARTING IN FEBRUARY! Join us every Tuesday from 1-3pm for Scrabble or other board games. Get out of the house and meet friends or make new ones!


Need a reason to get out of the house? Bring your favorite mug or travel cup and join us at the Bolton Free Library on the first Tuesday of each month!

The baked goods are generously donated by the Bolton Landing Tops Market!

The February Coffee Chat is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3rd at 1030am.


THE FIBER ARTS GROUP

Are you interested in joining our Fiber Arts Club? Give us a call at 518-644-2233 or just pop in on a Thursday at 3:30pm!


BOLTON FREE LIBRARY BOOK CLUB – We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm. You don’t need to read the book to come to our meetings.


Every day is a great day to come play at the Bolton Free Library. Kids of all ages can enjoy the train table, stuffed animals, games, toys, and books!
